"IT’S MANNY VILLAR FOR THE LATEST SWS POLL ON 2010 PRESIDENTIABLES"

SWS leading presidentiables on 2010 Commissioned
in behalf of Senator MANNY VILLAR ,JR. As authorized by the survey sponsor on June 2, 2009, for the information of the public, Social Weather Stations is disclosing in Table 1 below the results of an item on Presidential Preferences for the 2010 Elections commissioned by Ms. Avic Amarillo in behalf of Senator Manuel Villar, Jr., in five SWS surveys, done in June, September and December of 2008, in February 2009, and most recently over April 16 to May 6, 2009. (Ms. Amarillo is the Media Officer of Senator Manuel Villar,Jr. In each survey, the question asked was: Sa mga sumusunod na pangalan sa listahang ito, sino po ang malamang ninyong iboboto bilang PRESIDENTE ng Pilipinas, kung ang eleksyon ay gaganapin ngayon? [Among the names found in this list, who will you probably vote for as PRESIDENT of the Philippines, if elections were held today?]. The respondents were furnished with a list of candidates to choose from, and gave their answers orally.

In all five surveys, the list of candidates included Kabayan Noli de Castro, Francis “Chiz” Escudero, Joseph “Erap” Estrada, Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Loren Legarda, Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, and Manuel “Manny” Villar, Jr. The name of Bayani “BF” Fernando was included starting September 2008, while the name of Jejomar “Jojo” Binay was included starting December 2008.

The lists were in alphabetical order, and included nicknames, as practiced by the Commission on Elections on election day.

The exact survey periods were: (1) June 27-30, 2008, (2) September 24-27, 2008, (3) November 28-December 1, 2008, (4) February 20-23, 2009, and (5) April 16-May 6, 2009.

The surveys of June 2008 and February 2009 had sample sizes of 1,200 adults, for error margins of ±3%. The September and December 2008 surveys had sample sizes of 1,500 adults, for error margins of ±2.5%. The April 16-May 6 survey had a sample size of 7,000 registered voters, for an error margin of ±1.2%.

All surveys were conducted using face-to-face interviews.
